Open Question: What can I do about ex business partner? UK?
We split our partnership quite amicably, so I thought. We agreed I’d take machinery (which was mine anyway) and he could keep the premises, company name, website, bank account, computer etc.
I’m now recieving phone calls and letters asking to pay the direct debits that have not been paid for his company since I left. He closed the bank account and not the direct debits without telling anyone, including myself, and has gained debt. Unfortunately, some of these were in my name, and he has gave them my details so they are asking me to pay his debt.
Where do I stand?
